Constructing Futures is perfect for Baltimore City YouthWorkers interested in pursuing a career in the construction industry. Our 5-week (July 7 - Aug 8, 2025) program is designed to provide practical knowledge and experience specifically in the carpentry trade.
During the Constructing Futures program, you will
- Receive expert instruction in the classroom.
- Participate in hands-on activities like woodshop.
- Receive hands-on experience potentially rehabbing a vacant property.
- Learn about the tools and various techniques used in the carpentry trade.
- Receive OSHA safety training necessary for working in the construction industry.
- Visit active construction sites.
- Speak directly with employers and tradespeople about their experiences working in the industry.

Through our career and technical education (CTE) camp, students will receive hands-on career exploration opportunities in entrepreneurship, construction, STEAM, and healthcare pathways. During camp, students will explore the various careers available within the offered pathways, self-identify a pathway of choice, and develop a career progression plan.
